Thenkuzhal is a deep fried snack made during Diwali or Janmashtami with rice and urad dal flours.Kara means spicy in Tamil and this recipe is a variation to the regular Thenkuzhal which is made with added flours of tur dal and spiced up with red chilli powder.I happened to see this recipe in television and was hooked to it.As Ravi is fond of snacks,I made this last month and we all thoroughly enjoyed. You can grind these flours in a flour mill, but since I made a very small quantity,I ground it in the mixer. This was the first time I made this...

ACHARI BIRYANI

0
I am here today with Achari Biryani which has a spicy twist with added pickle flavoring. I have heard about Achari Pulao, but I wanted to try Biryani today and that too with Kohinoor Extra Long Basmati Rice which is grown and natured with the river water of Himalayas, is naturally aged for 24 months to impart the fluffy grains, the extra length & the characteristic basmati aroma. The recipe is actually flavored with pickle along with spices and masalas. So you can imagine how fiery and spicy the outcome would be. I have used mango pickle extract, but you can use any variety. The aromatic rice when cooked and mixed with pickle gives a unique flavor to the biryani.

VEG SAGU

0
It was on a trip to mysore many years back that i first tasted sagu. The spices were mild, gravy was filled with mixed vegetables and the texture soft and juicy. It was served with pooris and the taste was awesome. In karnataka poori sagu is phenominal.I have tried this many times for pooris and rotis too,but never licked it until one viewer requested to post this recipe. This is very easy to make and can be made in a matter of minutes. The good part is you can add all veggies and because of they are mixed kids won’t recognise what veggies are there...
