

Lemon sevai is a tangy tasty tiffin or breakfast recipe I usually make at home.Specially helpful in days whenever onion is forbidden,this is a wholesome dinner option as well.I made this with with rice flour,but you can make it the traditional way of soaking the rice and grinding it nicely and steaming it and then putting it in the nazhi or press and squeeze out.That process is long,time consuming but very tasty.The method I used is equally flavourful and forms a good meal.See down below the recipe of Lemon Sevai.

Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp mustard |
- 1/2 tsp Channa dal |
- 1/2 tsp urad dal |
- 1 tsp sesame oil |
- 1 Chilly Green |
- 1/4 tsp turmeric Powder |
- 1 pinch asafoetida -
- to taste salt |
- 2 tsps lemon juice |
- a few Peanuts |
- a few Cashewnuts |
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 cup Idiyappam

Instructions
- Take a pan and add sesame oil.Add mustard and when they crackle add channa dal,urad dal,curry leaves., green chillies,peanuts and cashewnuts.Fry a bit.Add asafoetida and turmeric powder
- Take the above fried ingredients in a vessel.Add now lemon juice and salt
- Prepare sevai/Idiyappam as per the method given in the link.Add steamed sevai.
- Mix well.
- Lemon Sevai is ready.Serve with any chutney or simply as it is.

You can add broken red chillies for extra spicy taste.
When tempered in sesme oil this sevai tastes great.
Coconut chutney is best with this sevai.
