

I think there won’t be a single person who doesn’t love this flavourful tangy and spicy rice which is fondly known as Puliyodharai.The tamarind sauce in which the Pulikachal is made is so yummy and tasty that using it as a base you can make a variety of dishes, chief of them being Tamarind Rice and Tamarind Sevai.I also make instant Aval with it.I have Pulikachal recipe in my blog so please follow that link to make this recipe.Every family has a different recipe for this Iyengars make it a bit spicy and add pepper corn carefully grounded and add to their gravy of Pulikachal.This is how I made and all enjoyed for lunch box as well.

- 1 cup rice Cooked |
- 3 tsp Pulikachal

- Cook rice and with the help of a fork make cooked rice separate.Allow it to cool.If you find rice dry add a teaspoon of sesame oil and cool it.
- Add pulikachal mixture.
- Mix well
- Puliyodharai or Tamarind Rice or Puli Sadam is ready.Have with potato chips
Notes
You can make this paste or mixture of pulikachal much in advance
Add oil on top if you find the rice little dry
Serve with chips,vadams or any dry spicy curry
