

Wheat Flour Appam is usually made during festivities and functions.It is made of wheat flour and jaggery batter and deep fried and offered to GOD, but you can make it as a sweet snack for kids to eat as well.A very easy preparation and easy to make recipe, this one involves a bit caution during pouring the batter on to the oil as it will emerge out as soon as you drop the batter in oil.Since VARALAKSHMI POOJA is fast approaching, I thought of posting this as this is one of the naivedhyam items offered to the GODDESS. - 1 cup Wheat Flour |
- 3 tsps rice flour |
- 3/4 cup jaggery |
- 1 banana small |
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 1 pinch cooking soda
- oil( for deep frying)

Instructions
- Take wheat flour,rice flour and powdered jaggery in a wide vessel.Add mashed banana,cooking soda and cardamom powder.
- Adding water little by little mix well.It should be like that of idli batter consistency.
- In a pan heat oil and pour in the batter with the help of a laddle one by one.You can add two too if you keep more oil.
- Take out once it is golden brown.
- Offer it to GOD and enjoy the naivedhya.

Banana imparts a nice flavour and ensures softness to appam.
Add jaggery well powdered.
Make sure no lumps are there.
