HARIYALI PANEER TIKKA

Hariyali Paneer Tikka is an ever favourite party snack to people of all age groups. It can be either roasted on a tawa or grilled. I always do this pan fry method , if I am in a hurry and it is one of the easiest crowd pleaser recipes that I know of. Since Dhivya likes all paneer recipes, I made this a while back. I have Paneer Tikka recipe already in my blog, so tried Hariyali Paneer Tikka this time. As we all know due to the addition of coriander and mint leaves, this is called Hariyali, which means greenery in Hindi. People choose to make various versions in this such as the inclusion of capsicum and onion cubes in between the paneer cubes . I choose to keep it plain this time and concentrated mainly on paneer and spices. You can even add broccoli or red capsicum bits in between.

This recipe is very popular in Punjab and they have various methods of serving this. Some wrap this in a roti and serve it and some make a gravy and add this and eat it as an accompaniment to roti or rice. Also the inclusion of chaat masala makes it very tasty and tangy. The addition of curd and various spices added must incorporate nicely in the paneer cubes and proper time must be given for the tasty marinade. Also arranging them on skewers is one important aspect. Some arrange them on a skewer and cook it in the oven or tawa. I have directly roasted them on the tawa and arranged them after removing them from the tawa. You can choose whichever method you like. Make sure the marinade is thick and the paneer cubes are well coated for excellent taste. Serve this at once it is made.
