AVAREKALU BISI BELE BATH

Winter brings with it a lot of vegetables, fruits and a lot of beans and peas. I try to make the best use of these and the recipes that can be made are plenty. One of the tasty things that this season offers is Hyacinth beans or avarekalu. A variety of dishes can be made these like Idlis, Khara bath, Dosas and much more. I had the oppurtunity to review Eastern Bisi Bele Bath Powder and so this recipe. I have already Bisi Bele Bath recipe in my blog, so thought of making a different dish altogether . It was so much aromatic and flavourful and got over in no time.  Since I wanted to use the legumes only, I have not added any vegetables. But if you want to, you can add any vegetable of your choice. With Eastern Bisi Bele Bath Powder, this recipe was made in a jiffy.

You can add this powder to various dishes such as Khara Bath or even Avalakki Bath. It always adds a nice flavour to the whole dish. Similarly, Hyacinth beans can be utilized in this season for many recipes. You can make a dry subzi for roti also with this masala in hand. The various options available for side dish include Mixture , boondi , raita or potato wafers. I have used ghee generously here, as it adds a nice flavour.  You can add a lot of more legumes if you have them in hand. Try to include protein more for your kids diet. So, this becomes a healthy lunch box option for kids and office goers as well. Peanuts add a nice crunch, so also cashew nuts. I have added them at  the ⊕last to have a nice tasty bite in the rice. Try this tasty medley recipe and let me know.
