White Channa

A gooseberry sized ball
tamarind
To Taste

TO TEMPER

FOR GARNISHING

coriander leaves
Instructions
Soak Avarekalu or Hyacinth Beans in water for 8 hours. Soak white channa, black channa and white peas in water for 8 hours.
Soak tamarind in water for 5 minutes.
Rinse rice and tur dal in water and add water.
Add Avarekalu, white and black channa and white peas.
Add tamarind extract.
Add salt.
Add Eastern Bisi Bele Bath Powder.
Cook for 4-5 whistles.
Add oil, asafoetida and mustard in a tempering ladle.
Add cashewnuts and peanuts.
Pour the tempering to the rice mixture.
Add coriander leaves for garnishing.
Serve hot.
Recipe Notes
You can use any legume of your choice.
Add vegetables with the legumes if you want to.
You can add onions, if you wish to.
