KESAR SHRIKHAND

As this year comes to a close I wish each one of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR.I am here today with a delicious dessert with an easy preparation method apt to fit any celebrating menu list.I have tasted many times store bought shrikhand and enjoyed with my family, but was skeptical as how this would taste at home and whether this would be a success in my kitchen. At first I was planning a fruit shrikhad and later changed to kesar shrikhand since I wanted a rich dessert yesterday to end our meal.Truly, this is a remarkable tasty recipe and would be loved by kids and elders too. This tempting Indian sweet is made from strained curd(greek yogurt).Generally low fat, yet rich in taste, this shrikhand is made with saffron, cardamom or diced fruits of your choice. The best part is this is a no cook dessert which can be made by bachelors, kids or beginners as well.

I have used double toned milk to prepare curd.Else you can use store bought curd. In the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat this dessert is a must in all celebrations.A tasty way to satisfy your sweet cravings, this is an excellent recipe for a quick menu. This can also be had with puris and is a nice side dish to go along with. The flavor that is infused in the yogurt by cardamom and kesar makes it  a must try recipe. In the restaurants, this occupies a main place in any Gujarati Thali. Any meal will become a success and a hit when this is served at the end.So what are you waiting for?Try out this delicacy for the NEW YEAR and let me know.
