BONDA SOUP

I first tasted Bonda soup at a place called Halli mane the famous hotel here.I didn’t know though how it would taste since i have never heard of a thing called bonda soupIt is a most popular snack variety here in Karnataka..Well it is not soup actually but Bondas soaked in yellow lentil gravy similar to rasam but with no tamarind.I have this peculiar habit of trying things at home after tasting them outside somewhere, so i tried it at home.It was a huge hit.I Should thank my hubby here for he is also a great foodie like me takes us quite often and we experiment foods and i try them at home.It is so easy to make that if you prepare Bondas in the morning you can make this soup in the evening and serve for evening snack or with dinner. It calls for very simple ingredients and healthy too.Calorie conscious people can first soak the Bondas in hot water and squeeze it and then immerse it in the soup and enjoy. Now let’s see how i made this.

Notes

For extra spiciness to the soup you might add 1tsp of sambhar powder.

You can add cut onions to the soup if you like.

You can grind the tomatoes or use tomato puree instead of cut tomatoes, but cut tomatoes taste best.
