GULAB JAMUN BURFI

This is basically a recipe made out of gulab jamun mix and not out of gulab jamun. I was quite tempted to try out this exciting recipe as I had never heard of such a sweet before. But it is Diwali time and I am in search of new recipes. It is a very easy one and if you are really looking for a good and super quick recipe, then this is the one. Using very little ingredients I made this in no time. We recently purchased a new car and I made this for celebrating the new addition to our family. As the gulab jamun mix itself has milk powder, you need not add it separately. It has maida for binding which helps in making the burfi come together. There can be a lot of variations in this such as addition of food colour or essences or fruity flavours. I have added only cardamom powder and kept the recipe simple.

The vessel I have used for the recipe is none other than Nirlep Selec+ which has become a regular feature in my kitchen. It helped in mixing of the ingredients well and also distributed heat evenly. The handles are sturdy which helps in the final process of making the burfi. Also this recipe uses very less ghee and is quite healthy to have it. After all it is celebration time and it doesn’t matter if you indulge in sweets once in a while. I have added cashew nuts for that nutty bite in the mouth, but you can add any dry fruit of your choice. So what are you waiting for? Go garb your jamun packet and get set.Try out this simple yet very tasty recipe and spread the happiness and joy along with light this Diwali.
