  1. Soak tamarind in water.
  2. Chop lady’s finger and set aside.
  3. In a pan add sesame oil,mustard,channa dal ,red and green chillies.
  4. Add chopped lady’s finger.
  5. Add turmeric powder and asafoetida.
  6. Mix well and let the vegetable turn soft.
  7. Add tamarind extract,sambhar powder and salt.Let it boil till raw smell goes away.
  8. Mix rice flour in water and make a slurry.
  9. Add this mixture to the lady’s finger gravy.
  10. Add jaggery.
  11. Switch off the flame after 5 minutes.
  12. Vendakkai Puli Pachadi is ready.Serve with rice,idli or dosa or with almost anything you like.

Notes

You can make this pachadi with bitter gourd or brinjal.

You can add only red or only green chillies.
