  1. Wash and pat dry dry tomatoes.Chop them finely.
  2. Dry roast fenugreek in a pan.
  3. Once cooled powder it finely with turmeric powder.
  4. The powder should be fine.
  5. Take a pan add sesame oil to it.Add mustard seeds and when they crackle add asafoetida.Add red chilly powder,fenugreek and turmeric powder and allow it to cook.After some time oil will leave the sides.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes.
  7. Add red chilly powder and fenugreek and turmeric powder.
  8. At this stage add salt and mix well.
  9. Lastly add powdered jaggery and mix well
  10. Serve with rice,chapatti or any item.

  • Always use clean and dry spoon while taking pickle out.
  • Use sesame oil only.
  • Using fenugreek powder adds a peculiar aroma to the pickle.
