Ingredients
  • 4 TomatoesRed big
  • 3 – 4tsp red chillipowder
  • 2tsp mustard
  • 1/2tsp fenugreekpowder(roasted and grounded)
  • 1/2tsp turmericpowder
  • 1/2tsp asafoetida
  • to taste salt
  • 1 1/2 – 2tbsp sesame oil
  • 1tsp jaggery
Instructions
  1. Wash and pat dry dry tomatoes.Chop them finely.
  2. Dry roast fenugreek in a pan.
  3. Once cooled powder it finely with turmeric powder.
  4. The powder should be fine.
  5. Take a pan add sesame oil to it.Add mustard seeds and when they crackle add asafoetida.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes.
  7. Add red chilly powder and fenugreek, turmeric powder and salt.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Lastly add powdered jaggery and mix well
  10. Serve with rice,chapatti or any item.

Notes

  • Always use clean and dry spoon while taking pickle out.
  • Use sesame oil only.
  • Using fenugreek powder adds a peculiar aroma to the pickle.
