Ingredients
  • 1cup Semolina / Sooji
  • 3tsp Oil
  • 1tsp Ghee
  • A Fistful Green Peas
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Capsicum
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1tsp Sambhar Powder
TO TEMPER
  • 1tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1tsp Channa Dal
  • 1tsp Urad Dal
  • 3 Green Chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1sprig Curry Leaves
  • 1tsp Oil
Instructions
  1. Cut the vegetables finely and keep them ready.
  2. Take a kadai and add oil add all the items given in the to temper table except green chillies.
  3. Now add onions.
  4. Add rest of the vegetables curry leaves and green chillies.
  5. Add salt,sambhar powder,and turmeric powder now and fry a bit.
  6. Add 2 1/2 cups of water for the vegetables to cook.
  7. Roast rava in another pan.
  8. Add roasted rava to the veggie mixture.
  9. Your rava khichidi is done now.Add a dollop of ghee and mix well.
  10. Rava Khichidi is ready.
  11. Enjoy it hot with chutney or as my grandfather would with simple white sugar.

Notes

Add cashew nuts for extra taste while tempering.

You can avoid onions and add cabbage while going to eat on fasting/vrat days.

Be sure to consume hot.
