Ingredients

Instructions
  1. In a pan dry roast the ingredients given in the to roast and grind table.
  2. Roast till brown.
  3. Once cooled place in a blender.
  4. Grind to a powder.
  5. Soak tamarind in hot water.
  6. In a pan add tamarind extract, salt and asafoetida.
  7. Boil well.Add the ground powder.
  8. Boil till raw smell goes away.
  9. Cook tur dal and keep it ready.
  10. Add cooked tur dal to the boiling rasam.
  11. Add freshly chopped mint leaves.
  12. Temper mustard seeds in ghee and add it to the rasam.
  13. Mix well.
  14. Serve Pudina Rasam hot with rice.
Recipe Notes

Add mint leaves chopped finely.

After adding the mint leaves do not boil too much.

You can add rasam powder in place of freshly ground powder.
