POTATO MURUKKU
Ingredients
  • 1cup rice flour
  • 1 potatoBoiled
  • 3tsps butter
  • 1/2tsp asafoetida
  • 1/2tsp cumin seed
  • water-as needed
  • to taste salt
Instructions
  1. Boil potato.
  2. Mash well.
  3. In a wide bowl add,rice flour,mashed potato,cumin seeds,butter and salt.
  4. Sprinkle water and mix.
  5. Adding some more water knead to a soft dough.
  6. Use the shape of press as shown.
  7. Add the dough in the press.
  8. Squeeze it on a small plate smeared with oil.
  9. Add it in to the hot oil.
  10. Fry till golden brown.
  11. Take them on a tissue to excess oil.
  12. Serve hot as a tea time snack.

Notes

Prepare dough little by little if making in bulk.

Add butter only the said quantity,else it may break into the oil.

Add some more water if the dough gets dry.

Smear oil on the press for easy squeezing.
