Ingredients
  • 3tsps urad dal|
  • 1/2tsp black pepper|
  • 1/2tsp cumin|
  • 1 red chilli|
  • 3tsps coconut(grated) |
  • 1 chayote|
  • 1 Brinjal|
  • 1 carrot|
  • to taste salt|
  • 1/2tsp asafoetida|
  • 1/4tsp turmericPowder |
  • 1/2cup Cooked Tur Dal
FOR TEMPERING
  • 1tsp urad dal
  • 1/2tsp cumin
  • 1tsp Oil
Instructions
  1. Add the chopped vegetables in water with turmeric powder and asafoetida.
  2. Cook till they turn soft and mushy.
  3. Dry roast urad dal, black pepper, cumin and red chillies in a little oil.
  4. Place this mixture along with grated coconut and grind to a smooth paste
  5. Grind smoothly.
  6. Add this paste to cooked vegetables.
  7. Cook and mash tur dal.
  8. Add the dal to the cooked vegetables.
  9. Temper urad dal and cumin in oil. Add the tempering now.
  10. Poricha Kuzhambu is ready.Enjoy it with hot steaming rice mixed with dal.

Notes.

You can dry roast coriander seeds along with urad dal mixture.

You can add a mixture of vegetables for more taste.
