Ingredients
  • 1cup Thick Aval / Poha
  • 1tsp Pepper Powder
  • 1tsp Jeera / Cumin Powder
  • 1tsp Mustard
  • 1tsp Urad Dal
  • 1tsp CChanna Dal
  • 1tsp Groundnuts
  • to taste Salt
  • 1tsp Oil
  • 3tsp Grated Coconut
  • 1Sprig Curry Leaves
Instructions
  1. Wash and rinse aval/poha in water and soak just to immerse them for twenty minutes.
  2. Take a kadai and add oil and when it gets heated add mustard,urad dal,channa dal,red chilly,groundnuts,curry leaves and asafoetida.
  3. When they are roasted add cumin powder,peper powder,strained aval an d salt.
  4. Mix well and add grated coconut.cook for 2 minutes till no moisture is there.
  5. Pepper poha is ready.
  6. Serve pepper poha hot.

Notes

  • You can add cashew nuts for extra taste.
  • Addition of ghee about a teaspoon enhances the taste of poha.
  • Use only thick aval as the thin ones will turn mushy.
  • Use freshly grounded pepper for extra taste.
