Ingredients
  • 1/2cup rice
  • 1/2cup moong dal
  • 3tsp ghee
  • 1tsp cumin
  • 2number Gren Chilles
  • 1number tomato
  • 1number onion
  • 1number Bay Leaf
  • 1/2tsp asafoetida
  • 1/2tsp Turmeric Powder
  • To Taste salt
  • To Garnish coriander leaves
Instructions
  1. In a bowl take rice and moong dal.
  2. Rinse in water 2-3 times and soak in water for 15 minutes.
  3. In a pan add ghee followed by cumin and bay leaves.
  4. Add chopped onion and asafoetida.
  5. Add chopped tomato and green chilles now.
  6. Add salt and turmeric powder.
  7. Mix well until tomato turns mushy.
  8. Add soaked rice and moong dal after straining them.
  9. Add water and cook.
  10. Cook until mushy and all the ingredients are combined well.
  11. Serve hot with curd and pickle.
Recipe Notes

You can make this recipe directly in a pressure cooker.

Do not substitute ghee for anything. Add the quantity mentioned.

You can add ginger garlic paste while tempering.
