  1. Soak moong dal in water for an hour.
  2. After 2 hours it must have well soaked and the dals will be tender.
  3. Strain in a colander.
  4. On a clean and dry towel spread it to dry them.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.Put a handful of moong dal on the hot oil.
  6. Wait till the sound subsides and the moong dal turns crispy .
  7. Take them out.
  8. Place on a tissue to remove excess oil.
  9. Add salt,chaat masala powder and red chilli powder.
  10. Mix well.
  11. Moong Dal Chivda is ready.Serve with your favourite cup of tea or coffee.

Notes

You can add a pinch of turmeric powder for adding colour.

You can also add kala namak for more tanginess.
