Ingredients
  • 1cup methiLeaves | (chopped)
  • 4tbsps Besan / Gram Flour|
  • 1tsp red chilliPowder |
  • pinch baking soda| a
  • 1tsp sugar|
  • salt| as per taste
  • 1/2tsp turmericPowder |
  • 2tsps coconut(grated) |
  • a few coriander leaves|
  • 1/2tsp mustard|
  • 1/2tsp Sesame SeedsWhite |
  • 2tsp Oil
Instructions
  1. Take in a wide bowl besan, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, s alt, sugar, baking soda and methi leaves.
  2. Add a little water and make a soft dough.Add oil and knead again.Keep aside for half an hour.
  3. Make small elongated cylindrical shapes out of the dough as shown.
  4. Steam it for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Once steamed allow it to cool
  6. Cut the steamed cylindrincally shaped muthias into roundels.
  7. In a pan add oil and add mustard seeds to crackle.
  8. Add muthia roundels followed by sesame seeds.Mix well
  9. Add now grated coconut and fresh coriander leaves
  10. Mix well.
  11. Methi Muthia is ready.Enjoy with hot tea.

Notes.

Make the dough without lumps for proper steaming.

Sprinkle red chilli powder on top just before serving for extra spiciness.

Add asafoetida while tempering if you want.
