Ingredients
  • 8 lemon
  • 20 ChilliesRed
  • 3tsp mustard
  • 1tsp Fenugreek / Methi
  • 1tsp turmericpowder
  • 1tsp asafoetida
  • to taste salt
  • 3tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
  1. Wash,pat dry the lemons and cut into small pieces as shown.Place them in a clean bowl or vessel.Add the juices too.
  2. Add salt.
  3. In a pan dry roast fenugreek seeds.
  4. Now dry roast red chillies.
  5. Place them in a blender once cooled.
  6. Powder finely.
  7. Add this powder along with turmeric powder to the salt lemon mixture.
  8. Mix well.
  9. In a pan add oil and heat.Add mustard and asafoetida.Cool completely.
  10. Add the oil in lemon mixture and and mix well.
  11. Lemon pickle is ready.
  12. Store in a clean dry container, bottle or ceramic pot.

Notes

  • Be sure to use a clean and dry spoon while taking the pickle out.
  • Use fresh firm lemon for pickles.
  • Also use the juice of lemon,since that enhances the flavour of the pickle.
