Instructions
Soak tamarind in water and take out itu2019s extract.Chop onions and tomato.Grate coconut.
In a pan add oil and fry onions till translucent.
Add chopped tomato.
Wait till it turns mushy.
Add this mixture in a blender with sambhar powder and red chlly powder.
Grind to a smooth paste.

The shallots wil turn translucent.
Add the ground paste.
Fry till oil leaves the sides.
Add tamarind extract and salt.
Once the gravy has thickened add chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves for garnish and switch off the flame.
Yummy Karakuzhambu is ready.Serve with steaming rice with dollops of ghee and any curry of your choice.

You can add any veggie alongwith shallots.
Aways fry the shallots and add tamarind extract as the fried onions will taste better in the gravy.
Adjust the spices as per your taste.
