Ingredients
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 chayote
  • 1/2tsp Grated Ginger
  • A Few curry leaves
  • A Few coriander leaves
  • To Taste salt
  • 1/2tsp urad dal
  • 1tsp Oil
  • 3 red chillies
  • A Gooseberry shaped ball tamarind
TO TEMPER
  • 1/2tsp mustard
  • 1/2tsp urad dal
  • 1/4tsp asafoetida
Instructions
  1. Chop onion,tomato carrot,chayote,ginger finely.Add curry leaves and coriander leaves and keep them ready.
  2. In a pan heat oil and add urad dal and red chilies.
  3. Add veggies and ginger coriander and curry leaves.
  4. Once sauteed and cooled place them in a blender with tamarind and salt.
  5. Grind to a smooth consistency.Add water if needed.
  6. Temper with mustard seeds,urad dal and asafoetida and serve with idlis,dosas or arisi upma.

  • You can even add snake gourd,bottle gourd,green peas brinjal etc.
  • Add more chillies if you want it spicier.
  • Adding green chilles also will enhance the taste.
