Ingredients
  • 1cup Beaten Rice/Poha
  • 2tsp Jaggery
  • TamarindA Small Gooseberry Sized Ball
  • Salt
  • 2cupas Water
  • 2tsp Eastern Puliyodhare Powder
  • 2tsp Grated Coconut
TO TEMPER
  • 1Tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2tsp Mustard
  • 1/2tsp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tsp Channa Dal
  • 1/2tsp Asafoetida
  • 1number Red Chilli
  • 1number Green Chilli
  • 1sprig Curry Leaves
Instructions
  1. Soak tamarind in water.
  2. Take beaten rice in a blender.
  3. Powder it coarsely.
  4. Take the tamarind extract.
  5. Add jaggery.
  6. Add salt.
  7. Add puliyodhare powder.
  8. Add powdered beaten rice and water.
  9. Mix well.
  10. In a pan add sesame oil, mustard, channa dal, urad dal and asafoetida. Once they splutter add red chilly and green chilli.
  11. Add curry leaves.
  12. Add the soaked beaten rice in the masala.
  13. Cook for 5 minutes.
  14. Add grated coconut.
  15. Mix well.
Recipe Notes

You can add red chilli powder and tamarind powder in place of puliyodhare masala.

You can also add rasam powder in place of puliyodhare masala.

Use sesame oil for better results.
