Ingredients
  • 1 cabbagesmall
  • 3tsp Channa dal
  • 1pinch turmericpowder
  • to taste salt
TO GRIND
  • 1/4cup coconutgrated
  • 2 – 3 ChillyRed
  • 2tsp Cumin / Jeera
TO TEMPER
  • 1tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1tsp urad dal
  • 1pinch asafoetida
  • 1sprig curry leaves
  • 1tsp Oil
Instructions
  1. Chop cabbage finely and wash in running water and keep ready.
  2. Take a pan and add cabbage,channa dal,turmeric powder and salt.
  3. Cook till it is soft.
  4. In a blender take all the items in the to grind table.
  5. Grind by adding a little water.
  6. Add this to the cooked cabbage mixture .
  7. Temper with the ingredients given in the to temper table.
  8. Serve hot with rice and rasam or any other gravy.

Notes

  • InĀ  place of red chillies you can use green ones.
  • You can even avoid grinding red chillies and temper it with red chiily.
  • In place of channa dal using moong dal will add a mushy texture which will be tasty too.
