  1. Grate the bitter gourd in a grater and instantly add salt to it.The bitterness will go if kept for 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze the bitter gourd and keep it ready.
  3. In a kadai add oil and temper it with mustard,urad dal,channa dal,red chilli and asafoetida.
  4. Now dry roast tamarind.
  5. Add both in a bowl to cool down.
  6. In the same kadai add grated coconut .Fry till golden brown.
  7. Now it is done.
  8. Add fried bitter gourd and coconut gratings and tempered items in a blender and add salt,turmeric powder and jaggery.
  9. Powder coarsely.
  10. Serve with hot rice along with some gingely oil on top with your favourite vegetable.

Notes

You can use gingely oil for tempering to enhance the taste.

You can add more red chillies if you want it spicier.
