Ingredients
  • 1/2cup Rice AvalFlakes/
  • 1/2cup milk
  • 1cup water
  • 1/2cup jaggery
  • 1/4tsp cardamomPowder
  • 1tsp ghee
  • a few Cashewnuts
  • a few Raisins
Instructions
  1. In a pan add ghee and aval.Roast it till it changes colour slightly.
  2. Add water and cook it turns soft.
  3. Once cooked add cardamom powder.
  4. And milk.
  5. Add powdered jaggery ad cook till it reaches a thick consistency.
  6. Fry cashews and raisins in ghee.
  7. Add the cashews and raisins to the payasam.
  8. Aval Payasam/Poha Kheer is ready for naivedhyam.

Notes

  • You can add sugar in place of jaggery.
  • If you want to get a creamy texture,add milkmaid.
  • You can also add edible camphor for that pleasing aroma.
