  1. Soak moong dal for an hour.
  2. Cook it in a heavy bottomed pan till it is soft.
  3. Strain excess water and allow it to cool for later use.
  4. In a seperate pan dry roast wheat flour and rice flour with little ghee.Make sure it doesn’t turn black.Keep the flame low.
  5. When properly roasted turn off the flame.In a blender add moong dal and roasted powders.
  6. Grind it to a fine paste.
  7. In a pan add ghee and roast the cashewnuts and raisins and keep tham aside.In the same pan add the ground paste and carefully turn upside down to ensure proper cooking avoiding lumps.Also add the food colour.
  8. In the same pan add ground paste and food colour.Ensure proper cooking and no lumps are formed.
  9. When almost cooked add sugar and mix well.
  10. Add remaining ghee and check for the consistency.
  11. Garnish with cashews and raisins.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

You can add badams,walnuts or pistachios for garnishing.

Instead of wheat flour you can use corn flour or maida.
