Ingredients
  • Lemon Sized tamarind
  • 1/2tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2tsp Peanuts
  • 2sprigs curry leaves
  • 3 tsp sesame oil
  • 2tsp White Sesame
  • To Taste salt
  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
TO TEMPER
  • 2tsp sesame oil
  • 1tsp mustard
  • 1/2tsp cumin
  • 1tsp urad dal
  • 1tsp Channa dal
  • 2number Green Chillies
  • 2number red chillies
  • 1sprig curry leaves
Instructions
  1. In a pan dry roast white sesame.
  2. Once cooled place it in a blender.
  3. Powder nicely and keep aside.
  4. In a pan add sesame oil, mustard, cumin, channa dal and urad dal.
  5. Add green and red chillies.Also add curry leaves.
  6. Soak tamarind in hot water and take out its extract and pour it in the tempering.
  7. Meanwhile roast peanuts in oil and set aside.
  8. Cook tamarind extract for 15 minutes or until it is hickened an oil leaves its sides. Add salt.
  9. Cook rice and cool. Add turmeric powder and curry leaves.
  10. Add roasted peanuts.
  11. Add tamarind extract.
  12. Mix well.
  13. Serve with potato chips or raita.
Recipe Notes

Always use sesame oil for authentic taste.

Use it after an hour for flavours to infuse.

Add more green chillies if you want more spice.
