YAM FRY

 

 

Yam fry is one of the simplest and tasty curry varieties you can make.The good thing is it tastes awesome with rice as well as rotis.Yam is one veggie that needs a lot of cleaning so i generally put in the sink and do the rest of the work.Every time i open the tap the water falling on it will loosen the mud on it and wash it with ease later on.Yam as we all now has many health benefits.It helps reduce constipation,decrease bad cholesterol levels and lowers colon cancer.It has vitamin B complex,riboflavin and also folic acid.This curry is so fast to prepare that you can finish making it in no time.

Instructions
  1. Clean and dice the yam into small cubes.
  2. Boil them in a vessel containing water and turmeric powder.
  3. Once boiled strain in a colander and remove water.
  4. Temper oil,mustard ,urad dal and curry leaves.
  5. Now add the boiled yam,samshar powder and salt .
  6. Sprinkle besan/gram flour over the curry.Add some oil,if needed.
  7. Yummy yam fry is ready to be eaten.
  8. Serve hot with rotis or sambhar rice.

Notes

  • Instead of gram flour you can add rice flour.
  • You can add onions too frying.
  • Addition of pepper also enhances the taste instead of sambhar powder.
