  1. In a pan dry roast the little millet or samai. Keep it aside.
  2. Add jaggery in a pan and add water just to immerse it.Add cardamom powder also.
  3. Let it boil and thicken at bit.
  4. Pressure cook samai or little millet in a cooker for 3 whistles.
  5. Mash it nicely.
  6. Add it to the boiling jaggery mixture.
  7. Add milk.
  8. In a small tempering laddle add ghee and fry cashews and raisins.
  9. Add it to the payasam.
  10. Samai or Little Millet Payasam is ready for offering.

You can try this Payasam with any millet variety.

You can add add various nuts like almonds,pistas etc. to enhance taste.
