  1. Pressure cook the potatoes for 2 whistles. Cool and remove their skin. Prick them with a fork so as to infuse the marinades.
  2. In a pan add oil and chopped ginger and crushed garlic. Now throw in the green chillies and onion.
  3. Grind this with mint and coriander leaves, fennel seeds and clove.
  4. Add this to the cooked baby potatoes and mix evenly. Add red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  5. Add yoghurt and marinate for 10 minutes.
  6. Soak rice for half an hour.
  7. In a pressure cooker add oil and ghee. Add cardamom and chopped onions.
  8. Add soaked rice and salt. Also add chopped tomato.Add marinated baby potatoes.
  9. Add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
  10. Keep in low flame for 5 minutes.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with onion raita.

Notes

You can cook rice seperately and add it later.

Adding cashews enhances the flavour.
