ONION SAMOSA

Onion Samosa is one the recipes I wanted to try for a long time.Normally a potato filled samosa which is also called Punjabi Style Samosa would be the thing I try for weekend snacks. This was a new thing to me, but I have seen this in trains where vendors would be selling and also in school canteens and theaters.I always am scary when it comes to making samosas.Because the pastry dough should be soft and moist and not dry. Also the dough should be kneaded to the right consistency and the samosa should be golden brown. In spite of all the difficulties in the making,I was craving for it.Also I have always wanted to serve this with evening tea specially during rainy evenings and last week was I tried this finally.

Rolling the dough and sealing it with the filling can be slowly by practice and I also did a good job,I presume. The samosas were super crispy and I served them sweet chutney. You can also serve these with green chutney, both taste delicious. The filling included in these samosas are beaten rice or poha along with fried onions and spices which give a nice crunch and base to the filling. You can adjust the spice level,I have added mildly as elders were eating.I also learnt later that these are called Irani Samosa.A tasty evening snack,do try this for your family and let me know.
