MANGO DRUMSTICK SAMBHAR

After Navarathri festivities I am sure all of you will be needing a simple yet tasty lunch options.I made this Mango Drumstick Sambhar today and it was as tasty as ever.I wanted to make plain Mango Sambhar but ended up with adding drumstick as well.Raw Mango Sambhar adds the rice to a new taste and imparts a special flavour. As you might know here you should keep the tamarind extract a bit less as we are adding mango which will make the sambhar sour. The mango when cooked tends to get softer and tastier. You can add brinjal or capsicum also in place of drumstick.

The big chunks of mango are surely tasty and is awesome with rice mixed with this with dollops of ghee.I first tasted this sambhar in my cousin,s place and it was yum yum.Generally while making sambhar I add asafoetida while tempering itself.I followed the same technique here too,as grandma used to say when you add asafoetida in hot tempering oil it will get fried and adds a unique aroma.Try for all sambhars and your recipe will be out of the world. Some people add shallots to this but since I wanted a no onion recipe tried this version.Try this out and let me know.
