GREEN MASALA IDLI

dsc09327-001

I had this Green Masala Idli for the first time when I came here to Bangalore about 13 years back in Sri Krishna Bhavan Restuarant. I was so much hooked by the taste that I would have it each time we visited there.I was tempted to make this last week with the small amount of idli batter that was left over. The greens needed for the recipe was also available at home and as an enthusiastic blogger I sprang in to the kitchen and started for the preparation. This recipe has palak or spinach included in it and can be fed to the fussy kids who otherwise hate greens. The spicy and flavourful idli can be made for snack, lunch or packed to office or school and will be a sure hit.

I have also included a bunch of curry and coriander leaves which adds the iron and mineral content to the recipe. With minimal spices and fresh green leafy vegetables, this healthy food was gulped down in no time. When you have in hand idli batter, try this tasty and filling recipe that fills your tummy in no time.I have also added onions and tomatoes to make it more tasty and forms a base for the gravy. The idlis soaked in this gravy for some time is surely going to make you ask for more..
