CHOCOLATE MODAK

Chocolate Modak is an instant recipe made with khova or milk solids and chocolate powder. It is a very easy modak recipe I was wanting to post for a long time. This is a very easy modak and will be a sure hit among children and elders alike. This festive season I thought of making something different and chocolate was my first choice. There are many varieties of modak , the chief among them is made with coconut jaggery filling with the outer dough of rice flour. I also have Modakam and Ellu Kozhakattai in my blog, which is a sesame seed and jaggery filling. The variations and stuffings are endless and you can experiment with the dough and the stuffing. Many tasty dishes can be made using your imagination.

Making the modak with flours requires a little practice as you have to shape them with your hands and stuff it. But you can also use the mould and steam it and offer it Lord Ganesha’s favourite naivedhya Modak. It is very easy to make this variety with mould as this one I have made here. You can also experiment the same chocolate modak with biscuit crumbs, dessicated coconut and dry fruits mixture with the chocolate powder while mixing the main dough. One of my friends made this modak with white cooking chocolate and it was awesome to taste. As they say sky is the limit for your imagination. Regarding the kadhai in which I have made this recipe it is from Nirlep Selec + range which has strong base with non stick coating and strong handles for even mixing of the dish. Also it was an easy affair to cook the mawa in this kadhai as it did not stick to the sides and the recipe was made in no time. See down below the easy recipe of Chocolate Modak. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all.
