BLACK URAD DAL SUNDAL

Sundal is a must offering to GOD in all households in South India during Navarathri. We at home usually arrange dolls in steps and celebrate the occasion with pomp and gaiety. Sundal can be made using various dals and legumes and it is highly nutritious and healthy. This particular recipe is made with black urad dal which has a high source of protein and fibre. It also has Vitamin B in abundance and is highly recommended to girls and women in particular. If you take black urad dal regularly in your diet, it cures many of your health problems including iron deficiency. Normally black urad dal needs more soaking time compared to ordinary urad dal due to it’s outer skin.

In olden days and even in some of the households now idlis are made with this dal. It really tastes good and is highly filling too.I have made this recipe using Nirlep Selec + range of fry pan and it was made in record time as I had soaked it the previous night itself. As the sundal is cooked in water this has very less oil content and to add to the health point the surface and coating of the pan ensures less oil absorption. This recipe can be safely given to elders and children and is easily available in the market. I choose to make this because I did not have this recipe in my blog wanted to try out black urad dals benefits. So try out this delicious recipe and offer it to GOD and share it with your friends and relatives. Wishing my readers a very HAPPY NAVARATHRI!
