ALU CHAAT

It is Navarathri from tomorrow and that time of the year where there is celebration, festivities, offerings to GOD, colours and tasty food to share. And raining here in Bangalore too. Many fast during this period and omit onions and garlic and many other food products according to their beliefs. But during that time too, you can make tasty and quick fix foods that are delicious and make your platter tastier and healthier. Alu chaat is one such recipe which is a delicious and fast to prepare snack. I am going to post a few snacks and offerings that can be made during the festive season in the coming days. The recipe has very easily available ingredients at home and can be had during evening tea.

I already have a sweet potato chaat in my blog, but this one is different as I have made it with different ingredients and omitted onions too. There are various methods of adding or omitting the ingredients and it is you own creativity that decides the success of the recipe. I have used Nirlep Selec+ Kadhai for boiling the potatoes and the fry pan to sautee the boiled potatoes. The potatoes were done in no time and I also had less difficulty in sautéing the potatoes as it did not stick to the bottom of the pan. The masalas that were added was as per my taste, but you can also add black pepper powder or amchur powder too to have your snack a little spicy. Try out this tasty snack during navrathri and let me know..
