AADI PERUKKU RECIPES

Aadi Perukku is a Tamil festival celebrated on the 18th day of the month of Aadi.As per the Hindu calendar year it is a monsoon festival which falls between mid july and mid august every year. This festival pays tribute to water’s life sustaining properties. As we all know without water no crop would grow and without any crop we won’t have anything to eat.Water is an essential part of our lives.People in villages offer fruits, food and flowers to River GODDESS,the super power behind our existence. It is also called as Padinettam Perukku because all the perennial river basins rise on the monsoon period on this particular day,i.e. on the 18th day.
